Movie Supervisor is Adelaide Business Software's established Hire system for Video and Game Hire, Pool Table hire and Poker Machine loyalty scheme maintenance.

Overall, Movie Supervisor is simple to install and operate. Behind this is unequalled flexibility and power, which has evolved over many years as the direct result of our installing and supporting computer systems in many hundreds of successful video stores all over Australia. These include city and country stores, of all sizes and types.
This extensive experience ensures that our total package of software, hardware, training and on-going support is fully optimised for smooth and efficient implementation, with reliable and effective long-term performance. Movie Supervisor’s features and benefits include:
Movie Supervisor allows fast, easy and accurate point-of-sale operations for hires, returns and sales, including instant look-ups of names, phone numbers, titles, stock items, barcodes, reference numbers and statistics.
It is so easy and automatic to use that anyone can operate it reliably, while it maintains accuracy and full control over Hire and Sell prices.
Flexible and automatic charging for all actions, including Overdue Returns and warnings of all Monies Due. The system continuously records fully detailed Audit Trails, Histories and Till Balances, and various levels of Passwords protect access to sensitive information and system setups or options.
Full stock/performance control, for hire lines (eg. videos, games, CD's, VCR's) and stock lines, by Department and/or individual item.
Flexible Member Club and Tape prices allow controlled revenue-boosting promotions. Examples include : discount hire rates on selected days and/or "happy hours", with automatic start/stop for day-of-week and time-of-day; selected discounts for special member groups; pre-sold discount hire Vouchers; multiple flat-prices for quantity hires (eg. $6 for any mix of 3 weekly tapes, and/or $10 for any 2 overnight tapes); part-refund for same-day return of new releases (eg. $2 back if returned before 6 pm.); alternate hire rates for any tape (eg. $6 per week or $3 overnight); special offers/vouchers which include mixtures of hires and confectionery/stock lines; frequent-user reward systems, with automatic but fully flexible points awards for specified hires, plus Top Point-Earners reports. In fact, Movie Supervisor provides almost unlimited opportunities for controlled and profit-boosting promotions.
Instant warnings of non-standard events, eg. title previously hired, VCR due for service, money owed, refer to special comment, more than a set number of tape-quality complaints from next hirers, wrong game format, "R"-rated film, password needed, credits or deposits due, special member status (eg. lost, stolen, parents only), special club conditions, etc.
Sales reports help to optimise stock levels for improved cash flow, and overall stock mix for profit and turnover.
Easy generation of purchase orders with suggested quantities. Orders become increasingly automatic as maximum and minimum order levels are refined.
Very easy film reservations by title/format, for same-day or future hire, with alerts when requested titles are returned, or hired to members with no reservation.
Ability to "record" many sequences of keystrokes into sets of single keys and/or into specially printed sets of barcodes (supplied by ABS). These are used to automate any kind of common actions or sequence of actions, eg. to print out a standard set of reports each day, such as Overdues, Reservations, Till Balance, Sales/Profit Summary and Stock Reorder Report; or to "jump" from field to field during repetitive add-Member or modify-Tape sessions; or to automatically add special Member comments during Hires or Returns, such as "Rewind!" or even lengthy Extended Comments (up to a page full) starting with the current Time and Date. This feature certainly improves efficiency and helps avoid mistakes or omissions during any multi-step operations. Using the special barcodes for this makes Movie Supervisor even easier to use.
Management and financial reports are available whenever needed, for immediate action, eg. sales volumes, hire statistics on new releases, film usage reports showing best and worst tapes, etc.
An easy but fully flexible Report-Writer is included, for creating custom-made reports. These formats can be saved and re-used later. Reports can be listed in various sequences, to screen, disk, or printer, or even in a form useable by Spreadsheet and Word Processor programs for further action. Mailing labels for selected members can also be directly printed, by various criteria.
Extensive performance histories for each tape, member and stock line are useful for all types of reports and selection processes.
Itemised audit trails of all hires, returns and sales (or just non-standard transactions) for the past 7 individual days can be easily scanned, for special checking or reporting.
Detailed hourly and daily statistics are kept for each individual day on an on-going basis (for years if desired), so flexible reporting and printed performance graphs are possible for any range of dates, from the first day of operation onwards.
Provision for agency management, inter-store tape movement, and wholesale tape sales.
Various Utility Programs, such as Member and Tape Summary Statistics; Top Members; Birthday Report; Members' Prize Draw; Batch Change for Tape Locations, Price Codes and/or File Numbers; Interstore Transfers by disk or modem.
This is certainly not a complete list of important features. In fact there are many more ways for Movie Supervisor to save your business time and money, and we are always happy to discuss these. As previously mentioned, much of our recent development of the system has greatly enhanced its marketing and promotions capabilities, to allow the easy implementation of systems to retain and increase market share and customer loyalty, while maintaining serving speed, ease-of-use and full management control.
